Ribbon Tips with Lisa Vorce

We are delighted today to spend time with the talented Event Designer and Producer, Lisa Vorce... and our very own Creative Director here at THEO! Lisa shares some of her favorite tips and how-to's for incorporating ribbon and twine into your event to set the tone and carry your theme flawlessly from start to finish. 

Each of the ribbons Lisa discusses are available in our THEO boutique. From waxed twine, velvet and satin to the beautiful dupioni silk and hand-dyed silk. You'll also find the metal favor tag Lisa uses as well as favor bags, seating cards, blankets and other pretty pieces for embellishment.

And remember knotted or bowed, ribbon is limitless in its ability to bring impact and consistency to an event.  As Lisa says, "don't be afraid of the bow!"

Beauty in San Sebastian

Deidre and Robert married recently in San Sebastian on the northern coast of Spain. Their magical wedding was created by our THEO Creative Director, Lisa Vorce alongside the talented Mindy Rice and captured so very beautifully by Aaron Delesie. The wedding was originally featured on Snippet and Ink.

We are so thrilled to be able to share some of the many stunning details of their day and excite you to pop over to the boutique to purchase them and make them your own. Whether for a wedding, a dinner party or special date, we invite you to "shop the look!"

The reception was held in a historic Gastronomic Society just around the corner from the church. Gastronomic Societies are unique to the Basque country in Spain and in particular to San Sebastian. Historically, these Societies were a place where men and women gathered to cook, eat and drink and Lisa Vorce worked her magic to be the first wedding in this particular Society.

Talented Lisa and Mindy designed the tabletops on the spot!

“Designing tabletops is quite magical,” says Lisa. “We never know which direction we’re going to go in. There’s always that one thing that dictates the design, and part of the excitement is finding that one thing. In San Sebastián it was the miniature kumquat trees from the local nursery. They were absolute perfection, and we knew we had to have them on the tables. From there, Mindy sourced fresh herbs, seasonal fruits, and flowers from local growers to create the stunning tablescapes.”

Additional details of the day such as welcome bags and wishes for the bride and groom also incorprated the theme established on the tabletops.

Outstanding in the Mangrove

We are so very blessed to have Lisa Vorce as part of our THEO team! Our site will feature her award-winning and so very press-worthy event design and weddings. And, she'll help you create a wedding of your own using her style tips and advice. We can hardly wait!

I’m into maintaining authenticity in each of the locations we work in, and it makes me smile to hear that for such a boutique operation – it’s a bit of a mystery as to how we can produce multi-million dollar events throughout the world. Classic Tablescape

We are so very excited to kick off our first blog with a beautiful Spring tablescape from Jason and Maggie's wedding. 

Perfectly pretty and wonderfully classic, it combines a neutral white and taupe palette set off by crisp greenery. The combination of simple elements make it both timeless and swoon-worthy. Including several personalized components from THEO!

Wedding planner, Lisa Vorce, incorporated several of our metal signs. She had each calligraphed an exquisite white for beautiful table numbers to direct guests, menu cards personalized with guest names and our favorite... a his and hers drink menu! She also used our THEO colored twine that we carry to create the personalized menu cards.

We love how the signs weave themselves into the neutral color palette and add a layer of additional prettiness.
